VAU Nozzles Eliminate Plugging in Coating Application
A paper mill was using high-pressure hydraulic nozzles to apply an anti-skid coating to two sides of a paperboard roll. After the coating is applied, the roll is slit and cut into paperboard dividers. The application of the anti-skid coating keeps the edges of the divider "stuck" to the bottom of the box. Unfortunately, the hydraulic nozzles frequently clogged, which caused an uneven coating to be applied. Since Spraying Systems Co.'s VAU variable spray nozzle features a built-in orifice clean-out needle that can be actuated to virtually eliminate clogging, it proved to be an ideal solution for this paper mill.
