VAU Nozzle Applies Labels to Wrapped Paper Rolls, Reduces Overhandling
Previously, a paper mill was using air atomizing nozzles to affix labels onto wrapped paper rolls and was encountering problems with plugging, coverage and drips. During the labeling process, labels are automatically fed on a conveyor for attachment to wrapped paper rolls in the finishing department. When the labels do not stick properly to the rolls, mishandling or overhandling is likely to occur, which means there is an increased chance for damage to the rolls. To solve this problem, the mill turned to Spraying Systems Co. for a solution. After a careful analysis of the needs, the VAU variable spray nozzle was recommended. Since the nozzle provides independent control of liquid, atomizing air and fan air pressures, fine tuning of flow rate, drop size, spray distribution and coverage can be made.
