AA190A Tank Washer Uses Air to Clean Tote Bins
Water Wasn't Compatible With Product
PROBLEM: Clean, uncontaminated color is critical in the floor covering industry. After all, no one wants red flecks in their all-white flooring. That's why it's so important that excess color granules or beads be removed from inside the tote bin before the bin is used again. At this particular floor covering plant, a worker used an air hose to manually clean several hundred tote bins every month.
SOLUTION: The AA190A tank washer was the logical solution to ensure quality cleaning of the tote bins. However, water was not compatible with the product and would cause the polymer beads to cling even more. The Spraying Systems Co. sales engineer recommended spraying air through the AA190A tank washer to clean the tote bins. Air turbulence knocks clinging beads off the sides of the bins and a vacuum pump at the bottom of the bin assists in removing airborne beads.
Air cylinder used to raise and lower tank washer shaft.
The AA190A is connected to an air cylinder which lowers the 3' (0.9 m) long shaft down into the tote bin. Once lowered, air starts spraying immediately and continues spraying until the shaft returns to its original position. A cycle takes approximately 3 to 4 minutes. The AA190A operates with an air motor and uses existing plant air for both the motor and spray nozzles. Rubber bellows (another recommendation from the Spraying Systems Co. sales engineer) further eliminate air leakage in this closed system. Once the cleaning process is completed, the clean tote bin continues down the conveyor where it can now be used for a different colored flooring.
The 190 series tank washers feature high-impact cleaning and significant liquid savings compared to lower pressure tank washers.
The spray turret on 190 tank washers rotates in a spherical pattern to clean all interior tank surfaces with powerful solid stream jets. The spray turret is small enough to fit through a 3" (76 mm) diameter tank opening and the whole unit weighs less than 20 lbs. (9 kg) for easy portability as well as clean-in-place applications. 190 Series tank washers have 1" NPT (F) or BSPT (F) liquid inlet connections.
Motors are located outside the tank, away from dirt and harmful cleaning solutions and provide controlled nozzle rotation.
The Model 190A features an air motor and is ideal for applications where spark hazards are present; the Model 190E features an electric motor.
Standard models are available with a 3', 4' or 6' (0.9 m, 1.2 m, or 1.8 m) shaft and an optional adjustable flange which allows the shaft length to be adjusted to different nozzle turret locations. The 190 series tank washers feature durable construction. All wetted parts are of 316 stainless steel or Teflon® for maximum corrosion resistance.
